A chance to do the right thing!

Published on September 26, 2025

So after I got to facetime Mrs. Shrader's class on the road I began peddling as usual.   About 8 miles down the road I spotted a wad of money on the side of the road just ahead.    Curious I had to stop and check it out.   It turned out to be a money clip with someone's drivers license and other cards along with at least the $30.00 + dollars that I could see.   I know if I had lost this I would not be having a great day so the boy scout in me decided to be trustworthy and kind and try to return it.   The address on the drivers license was not where I was but way back from the town where I had breakfast.   So I used my phone to try and find a phone number for the guy.    I found what looked like a good cell phone number through the white pages app using a trial version for a $1.00.   Unfortunately I got no answer or response to my text.   In the white pages app there were relatives of the person and phone numbers so I tried some of them.   I kept getting voicemail or no answer but I kept trying.   I was trying his place of employment where I got no help because of privacy laws when my phone showed an unidentified call coming in which I took.   It was this guy's mother who was so thankful.   She called her husband and son and they drove out to meet me in the middle of no where to get it.   The story has a good ending because this guy was so happy and thankful that someone tried to do the right thing.    I was just trying to pay all the "kindness" I have been getting forward! They gave me a ride up the road to make up for the lost hour of peddling to a real cool place called Musella, GA which is the home to "Dickey Farm" which began in 1897.   It is a real quaint part of small town America.   Fresh fruit, homemade peach ice cream, and fresh peach cider and plenty of rocking chairs to take a break.   You can't make this stuff better than it actually happens on the road!    BE KIND!
