So I began my Day 15 well rested and in complete darkness except for my bicycle lights on the far eastern side of the central time zone in Panama City at 5:00 AM. Getting an early start ensures I take advantage of the coolest part of the day. I was going to be hugging the gulf coast beaches most of the day on my way to Pensacola. Almost all the roads in this part of Florida have a bike only lane seperate from the main road for the cars. However for a 18.5 mile stretch there is a dedicated paved bike trail insulated from the main road called the Timpoochee Trail that is bicycle riding heaven (see blog picture). It even has natural shade in major portions so you are also protected from the sun! It kinda of made up for all the unpaved roads I have had to struggle through on the Tour de five guys! WHO DAT!
