So the kindness in Virginia has been incredible. I stopped midday on a backroad because I needed to charge my phone and get some cold water. I picked a house and got plenty of kindness from Kenneth and Marianne Worsham in Gretna Virginia. I got to sit on there porch in a very soft chair and rehydrate. They are married 47 years and have a beautiful place surrounded by nature! Super nice folks who were a joy to get to know. They told me about a place 5 miles away where I could get lunch - Sams on 40 where I met Sam who just opened the place and welcomes each customer personally. He wanted to know about the Tour de five guys jersey and challenged me to try his burger which is made with fresh local cattle beef. I took his challenge and his meat is better than five guys but five guys has better toppings and fresh cut daily French fries. As a thank you for stopping he offered me a free piece of fried chicken for the road for an afternoon snack which I gladly accepted. Fueled up again with both food/drink and kindness I headed south!
