So kindness began even before the Tour de five guys started. I work a gig as the breakfast attendant on Saturday and Sunday at the Hyatt House In Short Pump and Barb was down for breakfast on Saturday and overheard me talking to another guest about Greensboro as one of my stops. I told her about my idea and the website and she told me she was a retired teacher. I told her I was looking for schools to visit on my trip if she had any contacts. I sent her information on email. The next day Barb came down with Ron for breakfast. He asked me a number of logistical questions which I happily answered. At the end of that conversation they invited me to stay with them in Greensboro and I happily accepted their invitation and I am sitting in their living room writing this blog to let you know just how kind, trusting, and generous people can be - It has been a very relaxing day and I am Immensely enjoying hearing about their family. They are so welcoming and their place so peaceful. Barb is helping me to get 3 days of dirty clothes washed and dried so I can head off to Fayetteville rested and refreshed early in the morning. As they live in a suburb west of Greensboro Ron has graciously agreed to transport me and my bike south of Greensboro early in the morning for my start so the length of the day is more managable. Following the theme of the other couples I have met they are married 50 years this past March. They have an open invitation to visit us in Short Pump any time. They have set a high bar of hospitality!!
