So I got my ride out of Columbus Georgia after having an all fruit breakfast at the Hyatt Plave where I stayed the night. I work at the Hyatt House in Short Pump VA as the breakfast attendent on the weekend where I meet a lot of interesting people. I get a pretty good employee rate when I travel so that has been a big help on expenses for the Tour de five guys. So Ashley accepted my ride request and we talked the entire time before drop off, She is a delightful and inspiring 38 year old mother of 3 boys. She is starting over in life after divorce but she knows she has a lot to give. She has been searching for the right job after being a stay at home mom with her boys which she is very proud of. She thought she would like to be a flight attendent so she applied at Southwest Airlines because she felt they were aligned with her values and vision. Southwest only accepts flight attendent applications twice a year for 90 minutes so you have to be ready with your application and resume. So Ashley got hers in the system on that day and was selected for a video interview. She impressed and was invited for an in person interview where she was offered the job. She is currently memorizing her safety briefings before she starts her month long training nextweek. I fly Southwest Airlines a lot and she has the exact personality that makes Southwest so much fun to fly. Southwest wants you to be yourself and deliver welcoming exceptional customer service. She is still a bit nervous but I reminded her she just has to do HER BEST and everything else will fall into place. We both laughed that it would be funny if one day on my flight she was one of my flight attendants. I am sure it would be a great flight with Ashley.
