Today I will be staying with my good friends Bobby and Jeanne Champagne in Covington, Louisiana. Bobby met me on my route this morning and rode the last 20 miles with me to his house. It meant a lot to have Bobby ride with me and we caught up a lot on the back roads into Covington. He is a visionary consultant now specializing in the artificial intelligence space and how it can help in call center challenges that provide a quality efficient response for the lowest cost! We have worked together through the years on various IT projects and a catholic retreat program called Teens Encounter Christ. He is enjoying taunting me on a myriad of things! Of course I can give as well as I can get. It was great to have his support and companionship today! It helped to me push through in the heat! He will join me for the first 50 miles on the Tammany trace to Slidell, Louisiana and finally to the middle of the Rigolets bridge where he will turn around and head home to complete a century (100 miles in one day)! He is in amazing physical shape and while I was the one who got him on his first long bike ride to Baton Rouge many moons ago "the student has now become the teacher" in both cycling and IT in the area of artificial intelligence! WHO DAT! Ya'll are great friends!
